"I rarely keep regular hours." he takes a careful sip from his mug. "Anyway, it's too cold out there for you to be wandering around aimlessly."

He'd never say it, in fact he'd go so far as to loudly complain about it, but the truth is she's welcome whenever she likes.

She sighs. He knows all too well that she would be doing exactly that if he hadn't answered her text. She closes her eyes as she leans back in her seat and takes a welcoming sip of hot coffee.

"You remembered how I liked it."

There were so many odd little things he was remembering, having her around like this made all those things easier to remember.

"It was a good guess." He waves one hand dismissively and focuses on the mug in his other and not the sharp pang that cuts through him. She'd said 'I' not 'she' or 'Allison'... but I.

A slip of the tongue, that's all. That's all it could be.

She lets the silence hang over them for a moment as she enjoys her coffee, then turns to get a better look at him.

"Do you have work tomorrow?" The question is asked coolly, although part of her hopes he doesn't. It would mean he won't try to rush off to bed at least, but what the hell does she even need him up for?

"Hard to say with all the unrest lately." He glanced at her. "I'll probably be doing most of my work from here until things settle down."

Though why it matters, he's not sure.

"I'm surprised they haven't done more to calm things down," she replies with a small sigh. Not that it really matters to her, she can take care of herself if shit hit the fan in her neck of the woods.

"Do you already have everything ready for what you want to move over?"

"It could be that they are just as hampered by the virus as the rest of us." It was a more comforting concept than 'they're incompetent' anyway.

"I don't have much to pack."

She snorts. She suspects much of Bifrons' actions falls under incompetency.

"Then I guess you won't need help moving things. Here, you'll need this," she says and holds out a key. Now that the locks are changed, he'll need a new one.

"I should be able to manage." He takes the key and nods. "It may be several days until I can proceed with the move. I don't want to be dragging my escort along with me."

"Alpha agreed to this?" A raised eyebrow hints that he suspects the reason she's here.

She snorts. "Doesn't matter what he thinks. For now, he's staying somewhere else." Where, she has no idea. She assumes his place in D4, since there's no where else for him to really go.

"We got in a fight because of his dumb ass."

"Really," Not a question... just a statement. It's hard not to suspect that the Thanos virus played a roll.

It's also no surprise that they'd argue.

"Yes. So he won't be around when you get there," she replies with a light snort. For now, anyway. If the asshole apologized and made a good case for himself, he might get in her good graces.

He takes another sip of coffee. There is some temptation to ask more, but he also realizes that he doesn't really want to know. If she chooses to talk about it, he'll listen, but he's not going to seek any clarification on his own.

"You can both be total assholes, you know that?" she grumbles and shifts a little in her seat towards the middle of the couch. She's not going to spill every detail like some gushing child, but if anyone could understand the special brand of asshole that is part of the Church family, it would be the supposed 'head' of it.

"Yes, it has been mentioned before." he cocks an eyebrow and covers what is either a faint smirk or a scowl by taking another drink.

"How do you live with yourself?" she teases lightly. Her coffee is gone and she sets it on the coffee table. The warmth is helping to relax her and allow her to come down from alcohol she had partaken of before coming over. Everything is hitting her hard.
